EuroTech was employed to design, procure and install a major project for a French University in Abu Dhabi.
The space consisted of several offices and meeting rooms, and the project was unique in that French companies would lease office space in the facility to carry out studies using AI research supercomputers and have a direct uplink to Paris whilst doing so.
EuroTech’s scope included Audio Visual Systems, IT & Networking, Security & Structured Cabling.
The space was designed by Limelight Interior Design, built by ISG Middle East, and project managed by SERCO.
We used Cisco Nexus N9K-C9300 modular core switches to support 100Gbps of bandwidth on each port with the potential to aggregate these and increase this much higher and Cisco Catalyst C9200L 1Gbps, and 10Gbps switches to provide access to endpoints depending on bandwidth requirements.
There were also dual high-availability Palo Alto firewalls in an Active-Passive configuration to keep the environment controlled and safe.
IT & NETWORKING
EuroTech was thrilled to be involved with implementing a complete network infrastructure for the new AI Centre in Abu Dhabi. We consulted, designed, procured, deployed, configured, and tested everything from beginning to end.
The infrastructure was designed to be isolated from the existing networks but also utilize resources such as internet connectivity and wireless control.
The new data Centre consisted of high-end networking equipment with complete data and power redundancies.
The network was also designed around the huge bandwidth requirements to transfer large amounts of data from two Nvidia DGX-2 supercomputers capable of processing up to 2 peta FLOPS each of data and delivering this throughout the center.

AUDIO VISUAL SYSTEM
65” interactive table kiosk displays allowed customer engagement in the Break-Out Room and Central Waiting Areas. The entrance to the AI Research center had a 3×3 format video Wall display solution comprising 55” Video Wall Screens.
The video wall could connect to digital signage, wireless presentation (Mersive), and Apple TV. Users can manage the video wall layout and input selection using iPad control.
The Meeting Rooms comprised state-of-the-art audiovisual systems, which provide presentation and video conferencing facilities.
Each Room was equipped with 2 x 75” Commercial UHD LED wall-mounted screens to display the same or different presentation inputs. A wireless Presentation facility was available for presentation sharing from Windows, iOS, or Android platforms.
The client opted for a Polycom Video Conference System with high-definition cameras and a microphone array for point-to-point connectivity to researchers at Sorbonne University in France. The video conference system linked to the high bandwidth network for an uninterrupted video calling experience.
A Crestron Solution with a 10” touch screen panel was used for Switching and Control, whilst Evoko 8” capacitive touch displays were used as a room booking system.
ELV SYSTEM AND UPS
EuroTech was selected to design and implement the structured cabling, security system, uninterrupted power supply, and full data center experience.
The cabling brand used was Panduit CAT6a Low smoke zero halogen.
This advanced cable from Panduit suppresses the effect of alien crosstalk allowing 10Gb/s transmissions, whilst minimizing cable diameter. Fiber cables were also used to link the AI office to their main data center using Multimode cable to support 10Gb/s applications whilst maintaining 5Um Multimode system requirements. Both copper and fiber cables were distributed in 4 separate rack cabinets, properly dressed, labeled, and terminated as well as tested with fluke certification. All done by EuroTech’s in-house technicians.
There are 2 x 40KVA UPS’ connected to a maintenance bypass panel for isolation in parallel configurations during service operations. These UPS’ are fed back to 4 rack cabinets allowing all active components an uninterrupted power supply.
